Arthroscopy of the wrist
There are multiple sources of internal wrist problems. Investigation using imaging can sometimes point to the wrong source of the problem, and only an appropriate physical examination by an experienced clinician can offer an accurate diagnosis.

The cause of the pain on the ulnar side of the wrist is particularly difficult to determine. Small articulations are held by a complex structure of ligaments which, as with many ligaments, can sometimes get injured.
As with several other articulations, the problems with the meniscus of the wrist (rupture of the triangular ligament - TFCC) are treated with debridement using a camera (arthroscopy), but only after conservative treatment is attempted (rest, immobilization, occupational therapy, infiltrations).
