Anterior and posterior cruciate ligament repair
The swelling caused by a severe sprain of the knee often indicates significant lesions of the ligaments.

Front view, right knee
Sports-related knee injuries are very frequent. The instability caused by a rupture of the knee's stabilizing ligament (anterior cruciate ligament) can be stabilized with an articulated brace and physiotherapy or, more probably, with ligament repair (anterior cruciate ligament repair).
Lesions of the posterior cruciate ligament are rarer and more complex to treat with surgery.
